TINJAUAN PERBANDINGAN PERENCANAAN PERKERASAN JALAN BYPASS SIMPANG TALUAK – PASAR AMOR STA 0+000 S/D 2+000 DENGAN METODE MDPJ 2017 DAN METODE AASHTO

Road pavement is one of the important roles in supporting the smooth transportation infrastructure for safe, comfortable and efficient traffic activities for road users. Along with the increase in population mobility that is getting higher, resulting in the volume of traffic vehicles getting denser so that the level of congestion on the road increases. This study aims to determine the comparison of planning the construction of the Simpang Taluak Bypass Road - Pasar Amor regarding the dimensions of the highway pavement using the 2017 MDPJ Method and the AASHTO Method. In the implementation of the construction of the Simpang Taluak Bypass - Pasar Amor road section, the pavement used is flexible pavement with a road section length of 2.0 km and a road width of 14 m. Calculation of road pavement according to the Road Design Manual according to the MDPJ 2017 and AASHTO Method. Calculation of road pavement according to the Road Pavement Design Manual obtained a 20-year ESA value of 10,511,882.28. The relative coefficient of layers, the greater the coefficient, the smaller (thinner) the required pavement thickness. Structural number the greater the pavement thickness index, the greater the pavement thickness required. The results of the AC-WC, AC-BC, AC Base and LFA Class A layers from the MDPJ 2017 Method are 4 cm, 6 cm, 14.5 cm and 30 cm. As for the AASHTO Method, the results of the Surface Course are 13 cm, the Base Course is 6 cm and the Sub Base Course is 60 cm.
