Utilization of irrigation water is one of the various alternative uses of water. The influence of irrigation facilities and infrastructure on national food security is very large, so that agricultural production continues to increase in addition to improving the quality of seeds, quality fertilizers it is also necessary to pay attention to the role and function of irrigation. Good management of irrigation water can increase the function of irrigation effectively and efficiently with the aim of conducting an analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency of the secondary canal of Durian Island to get the percentage value of Effectiveness and Efficiency. research conducted based on analysis and comparative casual. Based on the results of the analysis of the discharge required for irrigation water where the largest discharge is the BPD building. 1 of 3.558 m3/sec and the smallest discharge in the BPD.4 Building is 1.352 m3/sec. The highest efficiency percentage is found in the BPD.3 building at 96.36% and the smallest is in the BPD building. 2 of 41.05% with an efficiency standard set by the Directorate General of Irrigation, Ministry of Public Works (1986) of 90%. The results of the effectiveness calculation obtained the highest percentage in BPD buildings. 1 of 90.35%..In improving the efficiency of irrigation water distribution, it is better for the relevant agencies to increase the irrigation operation manual supervision schedule on an ongoing basis.
